Monitoring and evaluation of projects have been cornerstones of the Basic Concepts Programme

A broad range of assessment and evaluation tools have been developed over the past 10 years. 

Some of the tools that have been developed:-

  • Observation of Mediation Scale - used by teacher mentors
  • Summary of Key Visit Information - used by teacher mentors
  • Test of Basic Concepts Knowledge - used by teachers, mentors and researchers
  • Test battery to assess the scholastic and cognitive functioning of learners (Grade 1 - 3) - used by researchers
  • Evaluation of Basic Concepts Knowledge - used by teachers
  • Transfer of learning monitoring sheet - used by parents

Administrators, teachers and project partners are given regular and detailed feedback on progress.
