12 BlOCKS is a lite version of the Basic Concepts Programme.
The programme is designed to be used by early years childcare workers and parents without any need for training.
The programme consists of 4 domains (colour, shape, size, position) as well as an integrative storytelling component.
There are four sets of activity cards with 5 activities for each domain.
The programme will be supported by an app that will support educators as well as monitor and evaluate learner progress. (The app is still in development.)
The content of the programme can easily be assessed:-
Colour: green, yellow, blue, black, brown, red
Shape: square, triangle, circle, diamond
Size: big, medium, small
Position: top, middle, bottom
Story: 3 visual stimuli are used to systematically guide learners to access knowledge from the above domains
***Also, establish if the child can work flexibly and problem-solve with all four conceptual domains.
