Mentoring Visit to the Etafeni Day Care Centre
There has been tremendous progress in the two younger groups visited today. The teachers had prepared small group activities for the rest of their learners while they worked with some learners in their class.
The teachers had both begun to teach size which had been linked to the theme: shopping. The posters on the classroom wall, developed by the teachers, were all related to the concepts and theme discussed above.
These young learners had started to make spontaneous use of some of the conceptual language and engaged positively with all the activities. It was evident that the teachers had started to plan their lessons together and were also able to implement these plans, but still required some support from Thandi Banjwa - the project fieldwork coordinator.
