Summary of Cluster Sessions for JTG and PKS

Term 2: Week 1 - 6

The second round of Cluster Sessions was run during the second week of April.

While we were able to successfully run the 6 cluster session (3 sessions per district), there were significant connectivity challenges this time around. 

The cluster sessions were mainly content focused with an emphasis on the next conceptual domain (Shape). The teachers will now be expected to mediate Shape over the next 6-8 weeks.

We were also pleased that most teachers had completed colour and had already started to implement shape before the cluster sessions.

Some teacher feedback received at the cluster sessions:

‘I love basic concepts because I have gained more information/knowledge and it is integrated with mathematics, home language and life skill. Big-up DOC and thanks for such an interesting lesson today.’

‘The BCP program is very helpful as it helps the children to answer questions using the correct language format.’

‘The BCP is very good because it helps my learners to concentrate, speak confidently and know about things inside the classroom. It also helps me to know how to say things (to my learners) inside the classroom. The BCP also helps me with my university assignments.’
