BCP Focus Schools: Marine Primary Update 1 (2024)

Marine Primary - Welcome to our new Focus School

Marine Primary School in Ocean View has a Grade 2 Afrikaans teacher that has joined the BCP training in Durbanville. Two Grade 2 Afrikaans learners are being supported with the BCP programme. The teacher has found the programme very useful in supporting learners that present with learning barriers.
I have supported 10 learners at Marine Primary School in the Basic Concepts Programme from February 2024. The learners are in Grade 1. Four learners are in the English class and six are attending the Afrikaans class.
The Learning Support Teacher (LST) at the school will be supporting the 4 learners in the Grade 1 English class next term. The LST was trained in BCP but has not yet used the programme this year. I will be supporting the LST with implementing the programme.
The Principal and Foundation Phase teachers have been very supportive of the programme and want more teachers to be BCP trained.
