Final, delayed data has been gathered.
The BCP is one of five components of the Ikwezi Project. External evaluation of the Ikwezi Project by JCM Research and Evaluation Services found that:-
Test of Basic Concepts Knowledge in the Namaqualand

A majority (69%) of learners who participated in the BCP in 2011 in Grade R were found to be prepared for learning in Grade 1 in 2012 - See image below.

Teachers' compliance with this project was extraordinary (95%), and the quality and dedication of the educators was most impressive.

Louis Benjamin and Tami Mhlati visited teachers in the Strand to mentor and monitor their progress. These teachers have developed wonderfully.

Baseline data for the project was gathered from a school close to the Etafeni Day Centre.

The practitioners again responded excellently to this colour revision session and introduction to shape. The project has been actively supported by the Principal of the Centre.

20 teachers at 8 primary schools and 5 ECD Centres have received classroom support over a period of three years.
